Have you ever experienced a toothache?

Have you ever experienced a toothache? If so then your first thought would naturally be….. “I’ll call my dentist”

Why it is so important to see your dentist and why it can’t be diagnosed over the phone…

Tooth pain can mean a number of different things…cavities, fractured teeth, or infection, to name a few…

The severity of the pain can be anywhere from temporary to chronic and/or dull to throbbing pain.  Teeth can be sensitive to pressure, temperature, or have a constant ache. Some symptoms, if left unattended, could lead to tooth loss. Most of the time if you are experiencing any of these symptoms, an x-ray is needed to properly diagnose the problem.  X-rays will show if there are any underlying issues that can’t be seen by simply looking into the mouth.

While some tooth pain isn’t severe, it is better to address the issue while it is still slight, rather than waiting until it is unbearable. Sometimes tooth sensitivity can be resolved by simply adjusting your bite. Other times it may not be so easy. So, if you are having any discomfort with your teeth please give Dr. Hecklin a call. In most cases he will see you the same day and keep you smiling!
